Nikulden is one of the best-loved feast days in this country. It is celebrated on 6 December, the day of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.
St. Nicholas is the saint who wields power over the seas, the lakes and the entire underwater world. He is also the patron saint of merchants and bankers, of the family, the home and of merchandise.
On Nikulden fish is eaten, and most of all carp. That is why we took a walk to Women’s Market in Sofia to check the fish on offer there.
