Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev: The Prosecutor’s Office is ready to discuss judicial reform

Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev stated the prosecutor’s office was ready to take part in any discussion of a judicial reform that will live up to public expectations of more justice, BNR’s Silvia Velikova reports.

The Prosecutor General opened an international conference on “Judicial Reform. Specialized justice” with the words that an attempt was being made to breach law and order, and that the ideas of closing the specialized court and prosecutor’s office jeopardized fundamental democratic valuesIvan Geshev declared he was in favour of a reform, not only in the judicial system, but also of the Ministry of the Interior, the intelligence departments, and the supervisory authorities.

Meanwhile, Hristo Ivanov, chairman of the parliamentary group of Democratic Bulgaria called on the prosecutor general to resign, today.
