Children and adolescents from family-type accommodation centers and elderly people accommodated at care homes and the Crisis Center in Sofia Municipality will celebrate Christmas Eve and Christmas with traditional festive meals. The charity initiatives are held under the motto “Christmas is for Everyone” at the initiative of Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova.

Volunteers surprised elderly and deprived persons with Christmas presents in the towns of Samokov (Southwestern Bulgaria) and Gabrovo (Central North Bulgaria). 800 packages of staple food were collected thanks to the charity initiative "Be Human - Samokov". Some volunteers visited the homes of the elderly and deprived people.

EUR 2,500 was raised in the town of Gabrovo for the elderly people living in villages in the Municipality of Gabrovo. The campaign warmed the hearts of more than 200 people, who received food, sweets, small Christmas gifts and greeting cards painted by children. Local organizations, cultural institutions, companies, the church and a Gabrovo resident living abroad signed up to the initiative.

The Bulgarian Red Cross Youth in Troyan organized an initiative named "Angels" in support of the families of local residents who lost the battle against Covid-19. The families of the victims of Covid-19 are to receive a paper angel which symbolizes the spirit of their deceased loved ones.

Students from the Foreign Language High School in Lovech gave Christmas presents to 65 children from family-type accommodation centers. They also organized a Christmas charity concert in support of a child with cerebral palsy and a parent with cancer.

Volunteers gathered at "St. Nicholas the Wonderworker" church in Blagoevgrad to prepare dozens of food packages for the needy
