A strong start for Ivan Cheparinov at the World Rapid Chess Championship

Three wins, two draws and a total of four points - this is the balance for the Bulgarian grandmaster Ivan Cheparinov after the first day of the World Rapid Chess Championship in Warsaw. The Bulgarian chess player shares the 2nd place with 12 other participants in the competition, and the leaders with half a point more are the world champion Magnus Carlsen (Norway), Jan-Krzysztof Duda (Poland) and Baadur Jobava (Georgia). 

For the ladies Bulgaria's Antoaneta Stefanova has 2.5 points after the first day, and Nurgyul Salimova with 2.
