Air in Bulgarian capital Sofia six times dirtier than admissible levels

The air in Sofia exceeds the norm for quality and pollution by almost six times, BGNES reports. Based on this indicator, the Bulgarian capital ranks 27th in the world. The main air pollutants in Sofia are heating by burning wood, coal and garbage, road traffic and industry in the city itself and in its outskirts. 

Specific meteorological conditions also contribute to high levels of pollution.
