Compensation for business proposed by the government due to high electricity prices is not enough and may lead to a sharp economic decline, rise in unemployment and social tensions. This was what representatives of employers' organizations said at a meeting with President Rumen Radev. According to them, the proposed compensation ceiling of 30% of the difference between the actual market price of electricity for a month and the price defined by the moratorium for households made the measure ineffective and called for compensation of 75%.

President Radev called for “swift and highly-responsible actin so as to neutralize the consequences of the energy price crisis because the energy industry is the fundament for the development of any economy.” In his words this is directly connected with curbing inflation and improving the living standards of the population.
