Coronavirus incidence rate in Bulgaria up by one-fifth compared to previous week

The coronavirus incidence rate in the country continues its upward trend, having increased in the past 7 days by almost one-fifth compared to the previous week. In Sofia the increase is by 39%.

The average incidence rate for the country is 325 per 100,000, as compared to 294 per 100,000 yesterday. A total of 12 regions reached a 14-day peak in the number of daily infections.  

The crew of a ship in the port of Varna is infected with coronavirus. The ship is Bulgarian, sailing under a Maltese flag. The ship’s cook died last night. An examining magistrate and a medical examiner have boarded the ship to investigate. The prosecutor’s office stated that an investigation is ongoing. The ship has been disinfected.
