Pandemic numbers rise after long New Year’ weekend

1,918 is the number of new Covid-19 cases registered in the country in the past day out of 17,408 tests performed, 562 more than the previous day. 74% of the new infections are among the unvaccinated, the coronavirus positivity rate stands at 11%, Single Coronavirus Information Portal data show.

The number of active cases in the country has gone up to 106,712. At 4,306, hospital admissions are also up, compared to 4,168 the previous day. 455 coronavirus patients are being treated in intensive care wards. 315 is the number of new hospital admissions, 80% of them are among the unvaccinated.

53 people have died, 51 of them are not vaccinated. The number of recoveries is 638.

6,830 vaccines were administered on the last day of the long New Year’s weekend. 1,916,392 is the number of people in the country with a completed immunization cycle, 283,435 of them have taken a booster shot.
