About 30-40% of a total of 53 million Bulgarian levs transferred in advance for the construction of part of the Hemus Motorway to companies presenting themselves as highway builders were actually directed to one political party and that was GERB. This is what Interior Minister Boyko Rashkov said after he appeared for questioning at the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office. Rashkov said it was now up to the Prosecutor's Office to gather evidence and identify the final recipient of the misappropriated funds.

The Prosecutor's Office called the interior minister as a witness on the Hemus case after his interview with the Bulgarian National Radio, in which he said: "It is no secret to me where this money went."

"Once again, Boyko Rashkov is lying and throwing accusations in the public space without providing evidence for them! That is why GERB will sue Boyko Rashkov," the position of GERB in response to the statements of the Minister of Interior on the Hemus case read.
