Rakursi Art Gallery shows Ivan Vukadinov's painting "In Memory of the Heroes"

On January 7, Rakursi Art Gallery in Sofia shows Ivan Vukadinov's painting "In Memory of the Heroes". The gallery is launching this exhibition, because the Vatican Museums have again showed interest in acquiring the painting.

The work of art was part of Vukadinov’s exhibition in Rome in 1975, when the Vatican Museums showed interest in buying the painting. Bulgaria refused to sell the painting, because it was designated a work of art of national significance. As a result, its author stopped exhibiting his works in Bulgaria. The painting will be on display in Rakursi Art Gallery between January 7 and 9, 2022. It will be sent to the Vatican Museums after the exhibition.

The exhibition is also connected with the forthcoming 90th birth anniversary of Ivan Vukadinov.
