12.36% coronavirus positivity rate in Bulgaria in past day

5,524 is the number of new Covid-19 cases registered in the country out of 44,662 tests performed, a positivity rate of 12.36%, Single Coronavirus Information Portal data show.

4,926 patients are being treated in hospital, 522 of them in intensive care. 644 is the number of new hospital admissions, 44 of them in intensive care units. More than 83% of the new hospitalizations are among the unvaccinated.

96 is the number of Covid-related deaths in the past day, more than 82% of them among people without a completed vaccination status. 676 is the number of patients reported as recovered.

The highest number of new infections is in Sofia – 1,872, Plovdiv - 458, Varna – 448,Blagoevgrad – 423 and Burgas -332.  

34,482 vaccination doses were administered in the past 24 hours. 1,938,466is the number of people with acompleted vaccination cycle in the country, 375,523 have taken a booster shot.
