Successful liver transplant surgery performed at the Military Medical Academy in Sofia

The first liver transplant for 2022 was performed at the Military Medical Academy in Sofia. The recipient is a fifty two-year-old man with an advanced liver disease. The donor is a 63 year-old man. The seven-hour transplant was made on January 11. The recipient is in a satisfactory health condition. He is responsive and his vitals are improving, Professor Nikola Vladov announced.

The management of the Military Medical Academy expresses special gratitude to the relatives of the donor, who gave their permission for the transplantation at this difficult time for them.
