In the third and last round of the qualifications in Melbourne, Tomova defeated the world’s No. 136 Irina Maria Bara, Romania by 6-2, 6-1 in 78 minutes of play. This victory brought Viktoriya Tomova 103,000 Australian dollars and 40 points for the world rank list that will bring her closer to making a debut in the top 100.
This is the second time Tomova has qualified for the Australian Open. She will find out who she will be playing against in the first round in a couple of days’ time.
