Kiril Despodov of PFC Ludogorets is Footballer of the Year, 2021

Kiril Despodov has been selected Footballer of the Year of Bulgaria for 2021.

The Ludogorets forward wins the distinction for the second time in his career, vying against Martin Kamburov (Beroe) and Georgi Yomov (CSKA). Despodov earned 203 points, 156 points ahead of Kamburov and 72 ahead of Tomov at the 61st award ceremony, held online due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Martin Kamburov, who broke Petar Zhekov’s record of 253 goals, received a special prize.

Simona Petkova from the Swiss club Young Boys wins the Female Footballer of the Year title, in competition with Evdokiya Popadinova from the Italian Napoli and Lilyana Kostova from the Polish Czarni Sosnowiec.
