Bulgaria has not yet called on its embassy to withdraw from Ukraine, but the situation is being closely monitored. At the same time, regarding Bulgarians who are in Ukraine but do not have urgent work there, it is better for them to return home, as some of the airlines are already stopping flights, said Prime Minister Kiril Petkov on bTV. If necessary, Bulgarian military planes will be sent to pick up the Bulgarians, the prime minister said.
Several American companies have stated that they want to transfer some of their programmers, who are in Ukraine, to Bulgaria, so they could work in peace.
For Bulgaria, this is an opportunity both to help Ukraine and to recruit staff from one of the professions with a high demand for professionals, Petkov said.
According to him, a strategy is being considered for people with higher education to come to Bulgaria more easily during the crisis and work from here.
