Weather forecast for Bulgaria for Tuesday, February 22

Mediterranean cyclone brings rain and winds in Bulgaria

Minimum temperatures on Tuesday will fluctuate between 3°C and 7°C, for Sofia around 3°C. The weather will be cloudy. Precipitation is expected in many parts of the country. Moderate to strong winds will bring cold air over the country. Snow is expected in the afternoon hours in the high fields of Western Bulgaria and the Prebalkan Mountains. Maximum temperatures will range between 4°C in the northwestern regions to 15°C in Southeastern Bulgaria, for Sofia- around 5°C. An alert for strong winds has been issued for 15 Bulgarian districts. Thunderstorms are also possible.

It will be cloudy in the mountains. Snow is expected at an altitude of 1,500 meters and above. Significant precipitation is expected in Rila Mountain, the Rhodopes, Sredna Gora mountain range and the Prebalkan Mountains. Maximum temperatures at an altitude of 1,200 meters will reach 5°C, at 2,000 meters- around minus 1°C.

Clouds will dissipate on Wednesday. Local showers are also possible.
