Russia closes airspace to planes from Bulgaria, Romania, Poland and the Czech Republic

Russia closed its airspace to flights from Bulgaria, Poland and the Czech Republic. The reciprocal measure took effect on 14.00 pm Bulgarian time on February 26. 

Flights from Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and Poland can be operated only with the special permission of the Federal Agency for Air Transport (Rosaviatsya) and the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Yesterday, Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia and Slovenia issued an airspace ban on Russian planes. Lithuania imposed the same restriction on Saturday evening.
