Weather forecast for Bulgaria for Thursday, March 3

Snow is expected on Shipka Peak on March 3

Minimum temperatures on Thursday will fluctuate between minus 4°C and 1°C, for Sofia- minus 3°C. There will be variable clouds in most parts of the country. Significant clouds are in the forecast for the mountain areas which will see some light snow in the morning hours. Strong northwesterly winds are expected in the Danubian Plain and the western part of the Upper Thracian Plain. Maximum temperatures will range from 4°C to 9°C, for Sofia-around 4°C

Cloudy weather is expected in the mountains with biggest chance of snow in the Balkan Mountain Range. Maximum temperatures at an altitude of 1,200 meters will reach minus 2°C, at 2,000 meters- around minus 8°C. Avalanche Bulgaria has issued an avalanche alert in Pirin Mountain.

On Friday minimum temperatures will drop, but daytime highs will rise 2 degrees.
