Ethnic Bulgarians in Berdyansk will be taken out of the city as soon as possible, said Bulgaria's Consul General in Odessa Svetoslav Ivanov. According to him, the humanitarian corridors are not working yet due to the long distances and the deteriorated road infrastructure. It will take nearly 8 hours to cover the 420 km to Odessa.

The consul also said that in the first 4-5 days of hostilities about 350 Bulgarian and Ukrainian citizens, ethnic Bulgarians of Ukrainian origin - mostly women and children, were evacuated from Ukraine.

According to Svetoslav Ivanov, without the help of the European Union and the solidarity of the rest of the world, Ukraine is unlikely to last long.

"There is already a great shortage of fuel, and there will probably be disruptions in the supply of gas, food and medicine," he added.
