Amendments to the Ownership and Use of Agricultural Land Act have been presented for public consultation.  Land owners will have two more years to establish where their properties’ true boundaries lie. Agricultural offices will have five more years to satisfy the claims of land owners. The termination of land restitution concerns nearly 1 million Bulgarians and 80,000 farmers, the impact assessment reads.

Many Bulgarians who claimed the true boundaries of their property won their cases against Bulgaria at the European Court of Human Rights.
