Premier Petkov calls on security services to continue providing operational information

Bulgaria's position in NATO must be clear and predictable and the institutions are working in this direction, the country‘s Minister of Defense Dragomir Zakov said at the Security Council convened by Prime Minister Kiril Petkov. The Security Council discussed the situation in Eastern Europe in connection with the risks stemming from the war in Ukraine, the government's press service announced. For his part, Premier Petkov called on the security services to continue providing operational information.

Minister of Tourism Hristo Prodanov has assured the Ambassador of Ukraine to Bulgaria Vitaly Moskalenko that Bulgaria’s government was doing its outmost to help Ukrainian citizens who need shelter and support. The institutions are working to coordinate the accomodation process, said Minister Prodanov. In his words, Bulgaria is to launch a platform that will facilitate labor market integration of Ukrainians willing to stay longer. For his part, Ambassador Moskalenko thanked Bulgaria for the humane and friendly welcome of Ukrainian citizens.

Bulgaria’s Deputy Premier for Effective Governance Kalina Konstantinova announced the structure of the headquarters with the Council of Ministers, which was established to manage the crisis related to the war in Ukraine.
