On March 10 Bulgaria marks the Day of Salvation of Bulgarian Jews and honors the memory of the victims of the Holocaust. President Rumen Radev recalled the courage of Bulgarians who withstood one of the biggest historical tests during World War II.
"The huge moral capital of entire generations is the foundation on which salvation was built. It was complemented by the consciousness of Bulgaria - the Orthodox Church, MPs, political leaders and public figures, the majority of ordinary Bulgarians", Bulgaria’s head of state Radev noted. “Today, the example of our forebears shines brightly and it is no coincidence that many Bulgarians are opening their hearts to the innocent victims of a fratricidal war”, said President Radev.
"We must keep telling the story of the miracle worked by Bulgaria in Europe’s darkest years", Rumen Radev went on to say.
