45,000 malicious IP addresses have been blocked for a week, Minister of Electronic Governance, Bozhidar Bozhanov, has told bTV. According to him, there was currently no rise in number of cyber attacks against Bulgarian state institutions, but there was activity suggesting upcoming cyber attacks.

An example of a recent hybrid attack, according to the minister, was causing panic and queues in front of gas stations. He pointed out that people associated with Russian companies, talking about lack of fuel, were behind the attack. The idea was shared by the youth organization of GERB party, which wanted the information to reach more people through paid articles, he added. It is currently being investigated whether there was a similar hybrid attack behind the panic and queues for cooking oil.
