All persons questioned by the investigating officers in connection with the case against ex-PM Boyko Borissov, his PR officer Sevdelina Arnaudova and former Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov will now also be interrogated by an investigator, the prosecutor’s office has announced via a press release.
This means that besides these individuals, Prime Minister Kiril Petkov will also be testifying, as he was a witness of the Interior Ministry services during the operation, conducted as a matter of urgency on 17 March. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Assen Vassilev and Minister of the Interior Boyko Rashkov are also expected to be summoned for interrogation as they were apprised of the case. However, it is not clear whether Vassil Bojkov, who is hiding out in Dubai, will be testifying. It is on the basis of his allegations of extortion that Boyko Borissov, Vladislav Goranov and Sevdelina Arnaudova were arrested and held for 24 hours.
The Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office adds that if in the course of the investigation sufficient evidence is collected that a given person or persons are guilty, charges will be brought against them.
Later, the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office published a message on its Facebook page that so far no evidence has been presented that illegal influence and coercion was exercised on Vasil Bozhkov.
