Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev will participate today at the Extraordinary Summit of NATO Heads of State and Government in Brussels. Meanwhile, Premier Kiril Petkov will take part at the European Council meeting in the capital of Belgium. The two forums will discuss the consequences stemming from the war in Ukraine, security and defense, economic issues, Covid-19 and external relations.

One month after the beginning of the war in Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said: “We have lasted six times longer than the enemy had planned”. He called on people around the world to protest on March 24 and show their support for Ukraine. A protest rally will begin at 18.30 pm in Sofia to support Ukraine and Bulgaria’s Euro-Atlantic orientation.

According to NATO, up to 40,000 Russian troops in total have been killed, wounded, taken prisoner or are missing, the Wall Street Journal announced. Russia began its invasion with roughly 190,000 troops and has since brought in additional troops.
