“The draft decision on an address by Volodymyr Zelensky to the Bulgarian National Assembly is currently being discussed by the parliamentary committees and will soon be voted in plenary,” the chairman of the Bulgarian National Assembly Nikola Minchev said in an interview with public service TV BNT. “If it is approved, Mr. Zelensky will be invited to make an address,” he said, and added that an address by the Ukrainian President does not automatically mean an address by Vladimir Putin, an idea that was heard coming from the Bulgarian Socialist Party. Nikola Minchev was categorical that the differing views on the war in Ukraine within the ruling coalition are not harming the common position of Bulgaria which is “this time clearly expressed, and this is appreciated by our partners, including by the Ukrainian President”. Sending weapons to Ukraine is not on the agenda, he said.
