Dimitar Berbatov has been questioned by the police and has confirmed the signals filed against the Bulgarian Football Union (BFU), by the alternative congress of the BFU.  Recently, Berbatov and 80 football clubs held an alternative congress of the Union and elected a new leadership.

Berbatov said for the BNT that the congress was legal. In his words, the only way out of what he calls an "absurd situation" is to hold a new unifying congress.

CSKA Sofia is to start a protest in front of the Bulgarian Football Union’s building against the sanctions imposed on the football club for participating in the alternative congress. Football fans said they would set up a protest camp in front of the Bulgarian Football Union’s headquarters.
