Universities to be able to issue joint diplomas

MPs have approved amendments to the Higher Education Act at first reading that envisage two or more universities to be able to provide training to students together and issue joint diplomas. Another text envisages changes for the degree of "doctor" which is to be obtained through work on a research project.

Thanks to the changes, universities will be able to share lecturers, facilities, general administration and service units, as well as to organize joint candidate-student campaigns. According to MP from "Democratic Bulgaria" Elisaveta Belobradova, the changes in the law would bring education closer to the flexibility required by the labor market and the needs of young people for development.
