Rally in support of Ukraine under the title "We are not neutral" takes place in Sofia today

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called on world governments to increase sanctions against Russia, because failing to do so would "allow" Russia to continue its attacks on Ukraine.

Russian troops are advancing to the battlefields of 2014 near Slavyansk and Kramatorsk to split Ukraine's eastern front, surround Kharkiv and reach the Dnieper River. Kyiv called on the civilian population to evacuate in a timely manner. The repatriation of civilians by the Russian authorities continues in Mariupol. Ukraine has accused the Russian military of bringing mobile crematoria into the city to cover up its crimes against civilians.

The United States have imposed sanctions on Russia's two largest private banks - Sberbank and Alfa Bank. Britain has also sanctioned the two banks and banned the import of Russian oil and coal by the end of 2022. The EU has not yet agreed on a fifth package of sanctions against Russian aggression.

An anti-war march of Ukrainian refugees took place in the central pedestrian zone of Plovdiv. The action was also supported by Bulgarian citizens. The crowd reached the Holy Mother of God Church, where candles were lit in memory of the victims of the war.

Under the slogans "We are not neutral!", "We are on the right side of history", a new march in support of Ukraine takes place in Sofia on April 7 at 6:30 p.m. The main request of the organizers is Bulgaria to send "military-defense" aid to Ukraine.
