“We shall soon start importing three new kinds of coronavirus drugs,” Prof. Radka Argirova, advisor to the prime minister on the pandemic said in an interview for bTV. According to Prof. Argirova they are brand new medications with a prophylactic effect – when taken up to 72 hours they cut off the infection. For this drug to be prescribed, the GP has to know what the diagnosis is, that is why the virologist calls for the free PCR tests to continue.

Prof. Radka Argirova stressed that the Covid pandemic is not over, and that some of the restrictions that have been lifted could be reinstated because of the low vaccination rate in the country. There could be a new wave at the beginning of May, though not as powerful as the one we had around the New Year, she said.
