Road industry companies in Bulgaria to launch national protests

The Bulgarian Branch Chamber "Roads" and the Bulgarian Branch Association "Road Safety" are starting today national protests throughout the country, including in front of the National Assembly in Sofia. Their protest comes after the National Assembly postponed last week the decision to pay the state's debts to the Roads Sector.

In a statement, the two organizations said that by neglecting the road construction industry, the deputies had left nearly 100,000 employed persons at a dead end.

"The condition of the national road network and the lack of any activities related to its repair and maintenance is due to the decisions of the current government," the document said.
