Sofia Regional Governor Ivan Kyuchukov returned the decision of the Sofia Municipal Council to place the Ukrainian flag on the Sofia municipal building. The flag was to remain there until the end of the war in sympathy for the tragedy of the Ukrainian people.

The governor also attacked the decision to call an alley near the Russian embassy (between Dragan Tsankov Blvd. and the building's fence) "Heroes of Ukraine" and a garden near the embassy to be named "Boris Nemtsov".
"After a review of the legality, it was found that significant violations of the substantive provisions of the laws have been committed, which lead to a complete violation of the acts in question of the Sofia Municipal Council," the district administration announced.
