More than 100,000 people are still in Mariupol and cannot be evacuated, the city mayor Vadym Boychenko said. Authorities are seeking help to evacuate those stranded in the destroyed city. According to Oleksiy Arestovich, adviser to President Zelensky, Ukraine's defense in Mariupol is on the verge of collapse.

Late last night, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defence Minister Lloyd Austin, who arrived in Kyiv on Sunday night. At the meeting, Blinken and Austin announced the provision of more than $ 700 million in additional direct and indirect military aid to Ukraine. The return of American diplomats is also expected this week.
