The leader of GERB party Boyko Borissov has accused the government of participating in corruption schemes in the gas sector. In his words, this will lead to a significant increase in the price of gas.

According to Borissov, a company called MET Energy, former employer of the current Executive Director of Bulgargaz Lyudmil Yotsov, delivers Russian gas as an intermediary.

Yesterday, in an interview for bTV, Premier Kiril Petkov admitted that an intermediary company, which had booked gas capacity before the war in Ukraine, is currently delivering gas from Greece. According to Petkov, the state was unable to book such a capacity through Bulgargaz, because at that point in time there was no suspension of gas supplies from Gazprom and because tenders are organized on a monthly basis.
