Russian forces launched another missile strike against a military facility in Lviv region. The situation in Donbass remains very difficult, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky warned. President Zelensky met with a US Senate delegation in Kyiv.

Ukrainian band Kalush Orhestra won the 2022 Eurovision song contest with their song Stefania. “We will do our best to host next year’s Eurovision contest in Mariupol, free, peaceful and rebuilt”, Ukrainian President Zelensky said.

Fighting in Donbass continues. Ukrainian forces pushed Russian troops back from Kharkiv. Ukraine has been counterattacking in the Izyum direction. “Ukraine is entering a new long-term phase of the war”, said Ukraine’s Minister of Defense Oleksiy Reznikov and added that Ukraine may mobilize up to 1 million people until the end of the year, UNIAN agency reports.

Finnish President Sauli Niinisto had a phone conversation with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin. Vladimir Putin said “negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv had been suspended due to Ukraine’s lack of interest in a serious and constructive dialogue”, the Kremlin’s press service said.
