The National Council for Tripartite Cooperation has supported the proposed Social Security amendments, which will introduce the Pan-European Pension Product in Bulgaria. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Assen Vassilev is the one who submitted the proposal.

The PEPP will enable funds from other EU countries to enter the Bulgarian market, collect social security contributions and pay pensions. The changes will also allow for the transfer of insurance and pensions from one country to another within the European Union, if the insured person changes the place of residence.
