Copenhagen is hosting a large-scale event for the Bulgarian community in the country - the traveling fair "On the square of the other Bulgaria". It is carried out with the support of the Bulgarian Embassy in the Danish capital, but the main organizer is the Bulgarian dance club "BG Folk Rhythms", whose dancers in Copenhagen and Malmö number nearly 50 people.

"We come from all corners of Bulgaria, with love and desire to dance Bulgarian folk dances. We live in two neighbouring countries - Denmark and Sweden and represent two dance groups united under one name "BG Folk Rhythms", say the leaders of the groups Nikolai and Panka Stoyanov.

The culmination of the event, with which Bulgarians in Denmark will celebrate the brightest Bulgarian holiday - May 24, is the big traditional round dance in one of the central parks of the Danish capital on May 28.

Although the first for Denmark, the festival "On the Square of the Other Bulgaria" has a 7-year history. The idea for its implementation was born in France in 2015, and its goal is to be held every year in a different place on the Old continent. Among the host cities so far have been Montpellier /France/, Valencia /Spain/, Milan /Italy/, La Nusia /Spain/, and Verona /Italy/ in 2020, when due to the pandemic, the event went held entirely online.
