A citizen of Norway, who is under investigation by the Norwegian authorities for participation in a terrorist organisation, preparation of a terrorist attack and incitement to terrorism, has been detained in Stara Zagora as part of an international counter-terrorism operation, the Prosecutor's Office said.

It has been confirmed that before and after his arrival in the country, the arrested person had posted on social networks messages calling for terrorist activities in and outside Europe and had maintained intensive online contacts with other radicalised persons. The Prosecutor's Office said that the Norwegian was not preparing to carry out terrorist activities in Bulgaria, nor was he setting up a terrorist group here.
