At under 74,000, active Covid-19 cases declining steadily

189 is the number of new Covid-19 cases, or 4% of the 4,673 tests performed in the country in the past 24 hours, which is 7 up on the previous day. More than 61% of the new infections are among the unvaccinated, Single Coronavirus Information Portal data show. The number of active coronavirus cases is down by 653 to 73,666.

30 patients have been admitted to hospital, 24 of the new hospital admissions or 80% are among the unvaccinated. The number of patients being treated in hospital is down by 5 to 367, of them 34 are in intensive care.

Two patients with established coronavirus infection have died in the past day, neither of them was vaccinated. 840 is the number of recoveries reported. 486 doses of vaccine have been administered in the past day.
