Dozens of new seeds for cereal, legume and sunflower crops are available from the Dobrudja Agricultural Institute. In 2022, the new agricultural products will be available from the Agricultural Research Institute in General Toshevo. The planting material is of Bulgarian selection and is adapted to the climatic characteristics of the regions.

According to prof. Ivan Kiriakov from the institute, one of the advantages of the wheat selection in General Toshevo is that it was created in the conditions of North-Eastern Bulgaria and can withstand low temperatures.

According to experts, the problem is the lack of state policy towards Bulgarian seed selection.
