Conditions for further development of bilateral cooperation between Bulgaria and Armenia exist

Permanent strengthening of stability and the expansion of the transport connectivity in the Black Sea region and the Caucasus is of key importance for stimulating the investments and partnership between Bulgaria and Armenia. This is the position of President Rumen Radev and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan, who is on a visit to Bulgaria. The two also discussed new opportunities to promote the partnership between the two countries in the fields of economy, tourism and education, as well as the benefits of a possible direct flight between Sofia and Yerevan.

The roles of the European Union and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe were also discussed during the meeting.

Minister Mirzoryan also met with Bulgarian Foreign Minister Teodora Genchovska. The two discussed the whole spectrum of bilateral relations, as well as the possibilities for attracting Armenian students to Bulgaria.

During the visit of the Armenian Foreign Minister, the Program for Cooperation between the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia in the field of culture for the period 2022-2025 was signed.

President of Armenia President Vahagn Khachaturian is expected to visit Bulgaria in the second half of 2022.
