The ambassadors of EU Member States will meet in Luxembourg to discuss the proposal of the French presidency to resolve the dispute between Bulgaria and North Macedonia and start membership talks with Tirana and Skopje, BNT reports.

Bulgaria's position on the negotiating framework proposed by the French presidency must be presented by the parliamentary committee on foreign policy. If Bulgaria gives green light on June 21st, the General Affairs Council will approve the Tirana and Skopje negotiating frameworks, while the Western Balkans summit on June 23rd will approve the start dates of the talks.

According to BNT, the French presidency and the EU have accepted Bulgaria's demands for North Macedonia and included them in the negotiating framework. They call for a change in the constitution of North Macedonia, guaranteeing the rights of Bulgarians there, as well as for the implementation of the bilateral agreements between Sofia and Skopje and for a joint declaration on the Macedonian language.
