The last thing Bulgaria needs at the moment is new parliamentary elections, Vice President Iliana Iotova said at the opening of the European Forum for Social and Solidarity Economy in Plovdiv.

"In the conditions of a severe crisis and the war in Ukraine, we will quickly find ourselves at the bottom of all rankings. I hope the government and the ministers will win the vote of confidence and defend it," Yotova said on the eve of the vote of no-confidence motion tabled by the opposition in parliament.

H|owever the Vice President is optimistic that the state budget update will be adopted, albeit with amendments from the opposition. But if it does not pass, it will be a "complete disaster", Yotova warned.
