Bulgaria is at risk of losing the 2.5 billion euros provided for this year under the Recovery and Resilience Plan if it does not implement the necessary reforms, said outgoing Innovation and Growth Minister Daniel Lorer in Brussels, where he met with Executive Vice-President of the European Commission Margrethe Vestager. He added that the time of the Bulgarian parliament needed to be extended to adopt the most critical reforms.
The Plan requires "a lot of laws to be adopted on schedule" - among them the legislature on the anti-corruption commission, on public procurement, and the Trade Law. "There is no time to lose, the danger of losing the funds is real if we cannot convince the Commission that we are passing these laws," Daniel Lorer stressed.
