There is such a people (ITN) leaves the negotiations for a new government with the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) mandate during the current term of the National Assembly. Our party is ready for new elections, said its leader Slavi Trifonov in a special statement.

"ITN has no place with these hypocrites and will not participate in a new government," Trifonov announced, pointing out that today the representatives of Democratic Bulgaria have for the first time stated out loud what they really think.

The statement came after a meeting of Democratic Bulgaria's (DB) parliamentary group in the National Assembly was recorded because the cameras and microphones were accidentally left switched on. DB were reviewing the results of the negotiations for a new cabinet. The chairman of the group, Hristo Ivanov, was heard saying that the bone of contention in the formation of the new government was the adoption of the law on the new status of the Anti-Corruption Commission demanded by We Continue the Change. It was agreed with the leader of the Socialist Party Kornelia Ninova that she will keep the mandate until August 12 to elect a new chairman of this commission, he adds.

"Kornelia behaves as if she wants to form a cabinet," Ivanov says in his account of the talks and criticizes Ninova for not explaining to ITN that they will not have ministers in the next government.

Bulgarian Socialist Party to hold onto cabinet-forming mandate until at least mid-August

A few hours earlier Kornelia Ninova had indeed announced that she would keep the third and last mandate to form a new cabinet at least until August 12, but with the argument that this time was necessary for the election of a new chairman of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission.
