Following a decision of the National Assembly Committee on Energy, the former chairman of Bulgaria’s Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) Ivan Ivanov is expected to perform the duty of an interim chairman of EWRC until a new chairman is elected, the BTA reported. The proposal was made by MP Iva Miteva from "There is Such a People" party. Several days ago, the Constitutional Court found unconstitutional the election of Stanislav Todorov as chairman of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission. On 9 February, 2022, Stanislav Todorov took over the position of EWRC Chairman from his predecessor Ivan Ivanov.

10 MPs voted in favor of Iva Miteva’s proposal. 8 MPs abstained and no MPs voted against. The final decision will be taken in the plenary hall.
