According to the latest Eurostat data for 2020, published today, 80% of Bulgarians of working age up to 65 living in households with low economic activity are at risk of poverty. According to this indicator, the country ranks fourth among the member states of the European Union in which an average of 64 percent of able-bodied Europeans from households with low economic activity are at risk of poverty. Lithuania ranks first with 85.4%, followed by Romania and Latvia - respectively 84.2 and 80.6%. The percentage in Denmark is 48.7%. Low economic activity for the household is calculated as the ratio of the number of months in which each family member aged 18 - 64 was employed in the previous year to the total number of months that the same household member could theoretically have worked at full employment.
