The Bulgarian bulk carrier Rojen, owned by the company Navibulgar, has left the Ukrainian port of Chornomorsk early this morning, Bulgaria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced. The bulk carrier was stranded in Chornomorsk for five months.

The ship has been granted permission to leave the Ukrainian port thanks to the round-the-clock cooperation between Bulgaria and Ukraine’s authorities. The vessel will sail along the grain corridor agreed between Ukraine, Turkey and Russia. According to unconfirmed information, the Bulgarian bulk carrier is bound for Great Britain, together with two other ships- Polarnet and Navi-Star. The three vessels carrying a total of 57,000 metric tons of Ukrainian grain will form a convoy near the coastal city of Odessa and will later head south. Ukraine’s authorities are planning to increase the capacity of the Black Sea ports of Odessa, Chornomorsk and Yuzhny so they are able to process more than 100 vessels per month and export more than 3 million tons of agricultural produce on a monthly basis.
