There will be natural gas, but the price will be high in August and September, then it will decrease, chairman of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission Ivan Ivanov told bTV. The price of heating will not be changed until 1 January, he said.

"Gas supplies from Azerbaijan will reduce the price. We will receive 1 billion cubic meters of gas, this is absolutely guaranteed," he added, explaining that negotiations with Baku are underway for another half a billion cubic meters of gas.

Further gas volumes are expected to be delivered by tankers,  but the infrastructure is still a problem, he said. He pointed out that Bulgaria had missed the moment to book slots for supply and would therefore now have to pay a higher price.
