Bulgaria still looking for terminals to unload LNG ships

Bulgaria has received a refusal to the request for extension of the delivery term of LNG from the United States, caretaker Minister of Energy Rosen Hristov said during the inspection of the gas connection with Greece. "We received a response from the U.S. company and the deadline remains the same.

By August 19, we must designate a terminal for the supply of the liquefied gas," the minister said. It became clear that he had spoken with a Turkish deputy energy minister, who would check whether his country had free terminals before the deadline.

In its last days in power, Kiril Petkov's government managed to negotiate the delivery of seven cargo loads of liquefied natural gas for each month from October 1 to the end of April 2023 at a price that is at least 20 dollars lower than that on the European market.
